  2. No Comms XXX
  3. MODEM FAULT
  4. Digi Fail Comm
  5. CHC TEST FAIL
  6. Telecom Fault 100
  7. STU LINE FAULT
  8. STU Call Fail
  9. Case Tamper 200
  10. Battery Fault 100

  1. Device Fail XXX
RS-485 communications have been lost between the endstation and the device labelled XXX

    [ Top ]

  2. No Comms XXX
Device on RS-485 bus is failing to communicate.
Identify device from numeric code. Check device addressed correctly to match programming. Check communications at device and cabling to it. If above correct, e-boot device, followed by reboot endstation

    [ Top ]

  3. MODEM FAULT
Endstation unable to communicate with COM9600 digimodem.
If modem not present, ensure that "Disable digi" option is set to 'YES' and "Download Mode" is set to 'NONE' or 'RS232'.
If present but not detected, check digi-modem is inserted correctly and complete endstation initialisation by pressing endstation 'RESET' button for 2 secs.

    [ Top ]

  4. Digi Fail Comm
Call to ARC from COM9600 digimodem has failed
(Note: This is a communication problem which is rarely caused by an equipment fault)
Check ALL call details are programmed correctly. Ensure signalling format correctly set for ARC receiver. If only one call number programmed, ensure "STOP ON SUCCESS" = 'YES' and "TRY SAME" is selected - NOT "TRY NEXT".

    [ Top ]

  5. CHC TEST FAIL
Unable to initialise SMS messaging with Castle Host Computer
Ensure Digi is enabled, and at least one SMS call is correctly programmed. Ensure "Disable Digi/SMS" is set to 'NO'. Check that ordinary phone on same line connects to CHC and that modem tones are heard - if not, problem is PSTN - NOT equipment.
De-programme SMS content types for each call, exit engineer menu, press RESTART button, and retry CHC test from manager menu.
NOTE: This would also result if telephone line had premium rate calls barred, or customer had "BT Answer 1571" enabled. Non BT lines can fail to communicate with CHC.

    [ Top ]

  6. Telecom Fault 100
PSTN Line Fault signalled by the COM9600 DigiModem
Only operative if "DOWNLOAD BY MODEM" selected or "DISABLE DIGI/SMS" is set to 'NO'.
Note: Line Fault timer is operative.
If Broadband is installed, make sure the line has microfilters fitted.

    [ Top ]

  7. STU LINE FAULT
PSTN Line Fault, signalled by device using STU pins on the endstation
Only operative if Site Option "Digi-REPLY" is set to 'STU' or 'DIGICOM'.
Check voltage on input pin (no. 15 on Euro-44 or 1[brown] on Euro-22/28) - if +5/12 volts, device connected is showing fault.
Note: Line Fault timer is operative

    [ Top ]

  8. STU Call Fail
Call to ARC from device using End-station pins has failed.
Note: This is a communication problem which is rarely caused by an equipment fault.
Only operative if Site Option "Digi-Reply" is set to 'DigiCom'. Check voltage on input pin (7 on Euro-44, 2 [red] on Euro-22/28) - if +5/12volts, device connected is showing fault.

    [ Top ]

  9. Case Tamper 200
The casing on the primary keypad of the system (keypad 00) is not closed correctly
Make sure that there is nothing restricting the closing of the keypad housing.

    [ Top ]

  10. Battery Fault 100
The back-up battery in the endstation is not charging correctly.
Check battery leads are connected properly. Check that the battery fuse has not blown. Replace battery, it may be flat and cannot be recharged. Please note that batteries are not user serviceable parts. There is mains electricity present inside the endstation housing and work should only be carried out by a professional installing company.
