Pressing the large red button on the Castle Care-Call Home Unit or pendant automatically dials wither the designated Alarm Receiving Centre or any of ten personal pre-set telephone numbers such as a friend or relative. The pendant panic button is surrounded by a protective rim and is activated when the button is pressed for one second. This has been designed into the system to prevent activation when pendant is dropped or accidently pressed which will minimise false alarm activations.
The Castle Care-Call system has a number of optential professional and industrial applications. These applications are varied and include improving the quality of care and lifestyle of people suffering from various health conditions including the elderly, physically challeneged and chronically ill. Castle Care-Call also offers protection to users both young and old such as latch-key children, young families, bank personnel, post office staff, supermarkets and isolated retail outlets, nursing homes, hospital staff and teachers.
This works in a similar manner to the speech pendant except that it can be attached to the celing and you pull the cord to traise the alarm. The built-in microphone allows the user to speak to the recipient or Alarm Receiving Centre and to also hear via the in-built speaker. The pull cord should be pulled until the red, green and amber indicators flash and two beeps are heard. These indicators show the progress of the alarm call, in the same way as those on the speech pendant.
The Castle Care-Call home unit has six fast dial memory keys and can interface with additional hard-wired peripherals, such as external security sensors or alarm systems, making this system the most technically advanced social alarm to date. Additionally, if the Castle Care-Call home unit is in use on an outgoing call, the call will be automatically cancelled so that the alarm call from either the home unit or the pendant takes priority.
